Wild Cat Canyon
It was a windy day this past Saturday at Wild Cat Canyon in the East Bay, or so I'm told, anyway- I was back east visiting family. But my husband took Captain hiking with some friends- here are a few pics!

A question
Thought I'd reach out and see what I got on this- anyone have advice on the following?
My husband and I are both runners and eventually want to take Captain with us when we got out to get our exercise too. We've been cautious so far since I've read about waiting for growth to complete, and because the primary place we run is along the sidewalk on the Embarcadaro. Captain is just over 8 months old and we've taken him with us on a few short runs - all under 3 miles, but on pavement- starting at maybe 6 or 7 months- but is it too young to start? I was trying to be conservative and just do 2-3 mile runs a couple times a week, but I don't want to put him at risk for bone & joint problems later. So when is it officially safe to run with them? And I assume, no matter what, they shouldn't be running on concrete all that often no matter what the age, right? (ps- these runs are in addition to daily trips to the park, playing, walks, hiking on weekends etc)
Advise away, readers! And thanks in advance for any input.

Beach day at Crissy Field!
Saturday we went back to Crissy Field to enjoy the perfect weather. We LOVE this local beach because it's 100% dog friendly (which means there's always tons of dogs to play with and we are free to run off-leash) AND it has great views of the Palace of Fine Arts, the marina, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Marin headlands. And what's better than sun, sea, sand, and doggies?
Notice the other V in the background- we met about 3 or 4 others, 1 of whom Captain went to puppy classes with, and another from the same breeder who turned out to be Captain's half-brother!
There was plenty of time for playing...
The lure...
Closer...
Get me out of here!
Here's Captain and his BFF digging up trouble as usual:
All that digging can be tiring!
And a good view of the GG bridge just to top it off...

Point Pinole
Yesterday we tried out a new East Bay park- Point Pinole, not too far from Berkeley and right on the water. It's just a bit further than Point Isabel, another great off-leash dog park in the area. We're trying to hit them all, and Captain is loving it!
The incredible flying ears:Captain's best friend, Taz, was there to share in the exploration.
We had perfect weather and miles to roam...
And of course, there's always time for a little chase...
