Doggie Daycare
Well, big changes are coming for Captain... his mommy got a postdoc here in California, which means she won't be working remotely at home anymore. We'll also be moving to Berkeley and leaving our SOMA apartment in just a few short weeks. Captain has been a spoiled, center-of-all attention Vizsla (as well it should be, but probably to the detriment of my productivity) for the past two years, and has only gone to daycare during the day when I've been away on work trips or the random day or two here and there when I've had too much to do to spend the requisite 2 or more hours of my day exercising him. So here's my question: anyone have any good doggie daycare recs for Berkeley, or anywhere between Berkeley and Sacramento or Davis? (I'll be having to commute 3 or 4 days a week). What do you do with your V while you're at work?

Aww, my place would be a bit out of your way. Our little guy spends 2-3 days/week at Waggin' Tails in Citrus Heights area, and he loooooves it (and I love it...I drop him off and he is SO SO excited to play). I made a spreadsheet of all the places in our area that included things like times open/close, cost, online reviews (like yelp, etc), dogs/people ratio, etc...then called and interviewed/visted my top three. Our Rustie is SOOO so happy in daycare. I hope you guys find a great place for Captain. Would love to think that if you're in the Sac area somedays that our boys could get together. Rustie about D.I.E's (in a good way) whenever he gets to play with another Vizsla. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job! My girls stay home alone all day :( I try to get them out for a run most mornings or at least have them up for a few hours before work.
ReplyDeleteOur two stay home while we work. We are fortunate that our house is set up with the back yard hidden from the road so the pups have a doggie door & access to the back yard all day.
ReplyDeleteAlways take an on-site visit to doggie day cares without your dogs and make sure you walk the whole place. I found showing up UN-announced is best.
