Mud Run

I guess it may not have been the smartest idea to go trail running after a week of rain. But I just couldn't help myself. It's the first time Captain has ever followed me on a run- usually he's blazing the path. He gave me more than a few "Mom, are we REALLY going down this mud trail?" looks. I think he knew a clean-up was coming once we got home...

We did about 12.5 miles all told -Captain's longest run so far! I think we will be making trail runs to and around Tilden park a more regular weekend event- it is a great place to run. And, nothing makes you feel like a kid (or a happy go lucky Vizsla) than just running around in the mud and loving it!

Updating the blog

(AKA, procrastinating/not writing manuscripts or doing reading because it's the weekend).

As you can tell I'm playing around with the blog design... but it's still the same blog! I'm still tweaking around with some elements but will either settle on all the features soon or will just need to get back to work. I'm hoping the design changes will allow for greater emphasis on the pictures. Guess that means I need to up my photography skills!

Captain and I will do our best!

Lala land

This is what we call totally passed out. Or a successful job wearing out the Vizsla. Either one.

An amazing invention

The other day I brought home a new treat from Trader Joe's...

What's that Mom?? Does that say....
Peanut butter....wait for it....cream cheese??? You mean they make cream cheese that tastes like peanut butter? Peanut butter that tastes like cream cheese? This calls for the Vizsla-happy-wiggle-butt-oh-my-gosh-I'm-so-excited-dance.

Two of Captain's favorite treats, combined= new favorite treat.

Ahhhh-mazing.
Who is this Trader Joe? I must meet him and give him a wiggle-butt thank you.

(I have to admit, the checkout guy told me he loved this stuff, and then gave me a funny look when I told him I was actually buying it just for my dog, but... what can I say, I knew Captain would love it, I don't like peanut butter, and I'm a sucker for my cute dog).

Happy Vizsla

Captain at Cesar Chavez park in Berkeley

Nothing like stalking squirrels at the local park! Captain LOVES coming here because there are always sooooo many little squirrels to chase, point at, sniff for, and stare down. It's a recipe for contentment. That, and mommy giving him lots of treats while we're there.
