Yosemite trip preview

Captain all packed up in the car and ready for exploration action!

Blog posts of Yosemite, Mammoth Lakes, and Stanislaus National Forest coming soon! (Once I catch up with work and sort through the hundreds of photos I took!)

In the meantime, here's a teaser photo: Captain taking time to read the signage with Daddy in Yosemite Valley (on one of the paved, dog-friendly trails).

  1. Too cute reading the sign. Can't wait to see gorgeous photos- those are all on my "before I die" list of places to see.

  2. Hi, I have been reading your blog since we decided to have a vizsla. We are on the waiting list for a litter due in December and are getting excited! I am not sure if you still check these older posts but I wondered how much space a vizsla requires in the car. Obviously the dogs vary in size but roughly?? We have a mid-size car and two children and I am worried the boot/trunk will be a little cramped for him. Thanks!

    1. Hi- Well, you can see our car is pretty little- it's a Honda Fit. And Captain's about as large as Vizslas come in this country- about 60-65lbs. When we lived in the city and didn't own a car, we used to use Zipcars, and the Prius was a little tight- he could fit, but it was just cramped. For you guys, with 2 children, I can imagine that's a lot more stuff- so you may require a bigger car to fit dog, kids, and kid gear all in.

    2. Thanks so much. We have the Nissan version of your car so we should be okay. We'll see how it goes with the kids AND dog as he gets bigger, and swap cars if need be. Congrats on the pregnancy-hope its all going well. Cant wait to hear how Captain takes to being a big brother!
