Happy Belated!

Oh no! I forgot to celebrate Captain's birthday! Captain turned 7 years old a few days ago, so I gave him some special treats to make up for it. I think he'll forgive me ;)

Obviously, it's been a busy year, but a few things have stuck in my head from it- one, as Captain always reminds me, is that you don't need much to be happy, just the people(or dogs) you love (and ok maybe some sunshine and a comfy place to cuddle).

Can I have my bday treat please?

Getting a birthday bone!
Another has come up from comments I get when running with Captain. People always ask if he's a puppy, or are surprised when I say he's (now) SEVEN. Shouldn't we all be so lucky as to be mistaken for much younger than we are? But not (just) because of looks -which clearly Captain has in spades ;) - because of that joyous, bounding, energetic excitement for being outside and loving life. THAT's what makes people mistake Captain for being younger than he is, and I think that's yet another lesson learned from him. (And actually from my other nugget, as she takes on learning everything, experiencing things for the first time, all the while giggling and smiling through it- well, mostly anyway).

Here's to SEVEN being SPECTACULAR!

  1. Its amazing how he's 8 and doesn't have any gray! I once read that gray is from "stress" so he must have a very stress-free life. Happy birthday Captain!

  2. Ahhh...Happy Birthday to Captain! Our beloved vizsla (Peaty) turned 5 in July. He too gets mistaken for a puppy all of the time!
